Notes (from http://foreverill.com/bootlegs):
This CD consists of selections from the Amsterdam Vinyl party on April 21, 1984 (which were subsequently broadcast on Holland's KRO Radio) and the entire Hacienda show on February 4, 1983. The sound quality is good, although some of the Amsterdam tracks seem to fall victim to that most infamous of CD bootleg atrocities - incorrect recording speed. In this case, "Girl Afraid," "This Night Has Opened My Eyes," "Still Ill," "These Things Take Time," and "Handsome Devil" all drag noticeably. The concert itself is typically brilliant prime early Smiths, with Morrissey in fine spirits. The Hacienda recordings are of good quality and are quite fascinating because they feature The Smiths in front of a rather skeptical audience (between tracks it sounds like only a couple of people are clapping) at their first Hacienda appearance (and only their third live show ever). There are several endearing moments, such as when the young Morrissey confidently asserts, "The only thing to be in 1983 is handsome..." Other highlights include early versions of "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle," "Jeane," and "What Do You See In Him?", the early blueprint for "Wonderful Woman". Big Music once again prove themselves to be on the top of the bootleg heap with typically lovely packaging, including many fine blue-tinted photos of the band, a picture disk, and a completely accurate and typo-free track listing.
